Lovable Shelter Puggle
Came across this Puggle post in the American Canine Hybrid Club forum - it tells in beautiful detail the wonderful story of a Puggle Pup called Roxy from a dog rescue shelter. It shows you that you don't have to pay designer prices for a lovable Puggle...
Wonderful! I'm so happy to hear of more people adopting their Puggles (any pet really) from shelters. I found my Puggle, Roxy, at my local SPCA after looking for a Puggle for only a couple of weeks. I am disappointed to read that one of you had to pay extra to adopt your baby, but I'm sure it was better than the $500 to $1000 I've seen "breeders" selling puppies for.My Roxy and I fell in love the minute we met. I had to leave the shelter to get the cash to pay the fee, and I swear she remembered me when I came back and was glad I did. They brought Roxy to the store front while I was filling out her paperwork and she wouldn't take her big ol' eyes off of me the entire time. When that was done, they tried to sell me a leash to take Roxy home on. I then remembered that I had a lead in my trunk just outside. When I went to the car, Roxy fought her way to the front window and cried and howled until I came back in to get her. Roxy was my girl, whether I liked it or not! This dog made herself mine, and will not leave my side (unless my gramma starts cooking, Roxy loves to beg!). Roxy was housebroken within a week and learns tricks in only about 2 sessions. She's incredibly smart, undyingly loyal, and also loves her big sister, Pandora a 6 year old Beagle/Cocker mix. Not to metion that she loves my two cats equally. If Roxy is any indication of the temperment of the entire Puggle race, I guess I'm hooked for life.
