Spike: Another Shelter Puggle

After hearing about Roxy the well loved shelter Puggle (previous blog post) I have been researching shelter adoptions and I am glad to see some very loving people looking out for a Puggle in Florida. I want to say thank you to Kelli Corson of the Central Florida Pug Rescue for her wonderful work. I am hoping someone can help pay her and the rescue service in the best way possible by finding a home for Spike. See Spikes story below...

am with Central FL Pug Rescue and my family is fostering a Puggle (pug/beagle mix) named Spike until he finds his "forever" family. I've got lots of pics (some with my 7 yo daughter Claire for perspective) and if you or anyone you know is interested in adopting him, please let me know. If interested - read further:

Spike's Bio: Spike came to us on Saturday afternoon, July 1st. Spike is 2.5 years old (although he seems younger - still very much the puppy!) and was found on the streets of Ft. Pierce by The Pound. Pug Rescue rescued him from there and he was treated for heartworms and neutered. He has a clean bill of health (obviously or I wouldn't expose my girls !). We believe he was abused as he has old cut marks on his front legs, on both and about the same height. He has a shortened snout, slightly wrinkled forehead and muzzle, and curled upward tail features of a pug, but to me (as a pug owner) his characteristics are more beagle. He is about 20-25 lbs and about 16 inches high - he is mid-sized to smaller and tan in color. Plus he has an underbite that is funny because it makes him look tough but my girls totally boss him around.Personality plus, this guy. He is extremely loving - he loves kids, adults, other dogs, everything. I gave him a bite of bacon and while my three almost removed my fingers, Spike was ever so gentle. He's housebroken - he had one accident on Saturday that I would attribute to new home and has not since. I've heard him bark once, yesterday. He mostly wants to play or sit next to you (or in lap) and he's very submissive. And he doesn't beg!!! For all his mysterious origins, he is an extremely well adjusted, loving, and happy guy. His adoption donation is $200 and is negotiable. Every dime is put back into CFPR to rescue other homeless or abandoned dogs!! Pls let me know!
